Why we built The Scripture Guide

Most people meet other religions through headlines, arguments, or a single friend's account. Few have the time to read the Qur'an, the Dhammapada, the Gita and the Gospels side by side — and fewer still know where to start.

The Scripture Guide exists to make that starting point easy. Ask a real question — Why do people suffer? What happens after death? How should I treat someone who wronged me? — and read how nine traditions have answered it in their own words, with the original texts one click away.

What we believe about the work

• Understanding comes before agreement. You do not need to accept a tradition to understand it accurately — and accuracy is a form of respect.
• Sources over summaries. A claim about a scripture should point to the scripture. If we cannot show where something comes from, we should not say it.
• Traditions are not monoliths. Catholic and Orthodox, Sunni and Shi'a, Theravada and Mahayana: differences within a tradition are part of the truth about it.
• Neutrality is a discipline. No ranking, no verdicts, no nudging. The reader decides what to do with what they learn.
• Technology should serve the text. AI helps us organize and explain; it does not replace scripture, scholarship or community.

Who we are

The Scripture Guide is built by The Faith Vault, a small independent studio creating tools for faith, knowledge, reflection and creativity. We are not affiliated with any religious organization and receive no funding from one. Our other products are Divine Reader, for reading and listening to sacred texts, and Religion Relief, a devotional-music studio.
